West Country 7s Rugby Festival, Bath

Keynsham RFC will again play host to the biggest and best Summer Rugby event in the region, the West Country 7s Festival.  From Friday 15th to Sunday 17th June 2012, teams of all standards and backgrounds are invited to take part in a number of different tournaments within the event, including 7s and Touch Rugby.  The previous 2 years have each attracted over one hundred teams, with many also camping, from all over the UK and beyond; including Ireland, France, Holland, Spain and Nigeria.

Please download the application form here.

This year sees the introduction of Junior 7s tournaments, with boys Under 14's and Under 15's 7s competitions, as well as a kids rugby coaching course, 'Cavalier Coaching' in conjunction with the West Country Cavaliers RFC, for Under 6's to Under 16's for two days.  A further introduction for 2012 sees the launch of a pitchside hospitality marquee overlooking the main pitch.  Here you will be able to enjoy some good food, drink and entertainment West Country-style...!

There will be two Men's Elite competitions taking place, with the launch of the Men's Elite 'Premiership' and Men's Elite 'Championship' being played on the main pitch.  Around this will be the Men's and Ladies Open, and the Men's and Ladies TRUST PA Social.  For our 'older' teams we have a Vet's 10-a-side competition, which will be played not too far away from the bar...!

The West Country 7s Festival begins though with a Corporate Touch Rugby competition on Friday 15th June, with games kicking off at 5pm.  We are accepting entries from local businesses and our sponsors for what promises to be a competitively social start to what will be a great weekend.  The Touch Rugby action continues on Sunday 17th June with a Mixed-sex competition where a lot of local sides who regularly compete in the Bath and the Bristol Touch Leagues, as well as other teams from elsewhere will come together to compete for the title.

Within the festival grounds there will be the usual food and drink outlets, merchandise stalls, entertainment, music, fairground rides etc – full details of everything will be released over the next few weeks…
